E-publishing
.
I research and write copy for websites.
I write, edit and subedit online content, including for:
• Mediclinic Infohub
• Mercedez-Benz's e-zine, mblife
• Vodacom's various online magazines, including Vodacom now!, Vodacom business! and Vodacom buzz!
• Crush! online food and lifestyle magazine
• Media24's travel site, Traveller24
• The Writers' College Newsletter (of which I was the editor for five years)
Between 2006 and 2008 I revamped Old Mutual's two existing in-house e-newsletters, bringing them up to speed in both appearance and content, and also introduced a third weekly newsletter. All three were placed in the finals of the 2008 South African Publications Forum’s annual competition, coming second, third and fifth. This was a significant achievement, considering that most e-newsletters are outsourced to specialist teams; the Old Mutual newsletters were handled entirely by myself and one layout artist/technical wizard in Cape Town.
I wrote a bi-monthly column for Media24’s Parent.24 website (2008-2010).
I co-authored the blog Salmagundi (now closed), which was a runner-up for 'best original writing' in the 2009 South African blog awards.
